Food Service

Gila Bend Unified School District participates in a Special Provision Option offered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that affects the traditional operating procedures of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Under this provision, it is not necessary to distribute household applications among families with children in attendance. Currently, all children attending Gila Bend Unified School District receive breakfast and lunch at no charge. We will make a public notification if this changes in the future.

El distrito escolar participa en una provisión especial establecido por el Departamento de Agricultura de EE.UU. (USDA) que afecta los procedimientos de operación tradicional del Programa Nacional de Almuerzos Escolares (NSLP). Según esta provisión, no es necesario distribuir aplicaciones a domicilios de estudiantes en asistencia. Actualmente, todos los niños que asisten al Distrito Escolar Unificado de Gila Bend reciben desayuno y almuerzo sin cargo. Haremos una notificación pública si esto cambia en el futuro.

What's Cookin'? 

Gila Bend School District provides both a breakfast and lunch program. Prices for meals will be announced.

Lunch times vary depending upon grade level.  Check your child’s daily schedule for grade level lunch times. Food and drink are not allowed outside of designated areas.

Nutrition Matters

The Gila Bend Food Service Department is dedicated to delivering high quality, nutritious meals to our students. We recognize that the eating habits we form in our youth are those habits that will stay with us for a lifetime. With this in mind, we maintain a cafeteria that meets all of the standards of the quality and quantity of food served.

Since good nutrition impacts classroom performance, our menus and food preparation is designed to assist student learning. We also encourage parents to help their children to eat healthy, nutritious foods both at school and at home.
